Summary: Travis Country West is a southwest Austin neighborhood located four miles west of MoPac (Loop 1) on the south side of Southwest Parkway.  Travis Country West is a desirable place for Austin homeowners because of its beautiful hill country setting and relative affordability. Its location also places it in close proximity to the downtown area, businesses such as AMD and Freescale, public and private schools, and other amenities.  Homes in Travis Country West were constructed between 2002 and 2007 with builders DR Horton and Morrison Homes.

• While some people confuse Travis Country West with the much larger and older Travis Country subdivision, Travis Country West is actually 3.5 miles further west than Travis Country and is situated on the opposite side of Southwest Parkway.

Tax records show there are 230 homes located on only a handful of streets in Travis Country West, including Big Timber Drive, Cobblestone Drive, Fort Benton Drive, Medicine Creek Drive, and Sunset Ridge.

The earliest sale of a home in the MLS was in December 2002. Home prices range from $280,000 to just over $450,000 with the price per square foot ranging from $100 on the very low end up to $150 per square foot.  The median price per square foot since the beginning of 2010 is $124.95 per square foot.

HOA fees at Travis Country West are around $395 per year, which is a value considering neighborhood amenities, such as a pool, playscape, and walking/running trail.  While this neighborhood is relatively small compared to nearby Travis Country and Circle C, many Travis Country West homeowners appreciate the intimate nature of the neighborhood.
